Embed something from another site so that your students don't need to open multiple tabs! You can also embed anything saved in Google Drive.
Note: you cannot simply copy the URL of a site and paste that into the "Embed" field. You must get an "embed code" from the website you wish to embed. Websites like Flipgrid or Edpuzzle provide embed codes (see the following for more details on those sites). Other sites do not provide an embed code, and you'll need to generate one using a site such as iFrame Generator (see the following for an example).
If you want to embed a Google Drive file, simply copy and paste the sharing link. Make sure that your students have permission to view; if students are working virtually, you'll need to set permissions to "Anyone with the link can view" in order for students to see the content in your formative.
Currently, you have two options for an embed: 1) a content item or 2) right within a question (this second feature is available for Partner members only).
You can also add content between other things on your formative. Click on the + icon in between questions or content you've already created, and then select from the menu that appears.
You can embed almost anything into a formative! If the site you want to embed doesn’t provide an embed code, then you can use a site like iFrame Generator to generate one. Copy the website URL, paste that URL into iFrame Generator, and click "Generate." iFrame Generator will produce a new embed code, which you can then paste into the embed field of your formative.
The embed code is editable; for example, you can edit the height and width so that the iFrame displays better on your student devices. To do this, edit the number in the embed code that appears before "px," after "height=," and after "width=." If you add an embed to an uploaded PDF/Doc/Google Doc/image file, the maximum width for the iFrame is 350px. You may have to edit the width to 350px in the embedded iframe to view the full site.
District supervisors and directors can access the data to allow for collaboration and reflection with administrators and specialists. Once published, all are updatable at any time, and any changes will update scores and tracking for students.
Formative assessment is the true pulse of rich instruction. This phenomenal platform allows us to provide instant feedback to students while simultaneously adapting to an ever-changing virtual landscape.
It is probably one of the very best programs I have ever come across in education, and I’ve been here for 31 years...The customer support is outstanding!
Fingers crossed that SCEC admin will buy into the full subscription. What would life be without Formative in the classroom? Thank you for creating such an app. It is a teacher's online dream for assessments!
